I just took a first stab at a XML export function:
http://www.mindpicnic.com/export/

This exports all the courses and lessons that the user requesting the url created. I haven't found a good place to integrate the link in the user interface yet.

  Actually I like all of the features the poll proposes (to be honest, I wouldn't have picked them for the poll otherwise), so it's just a question of which feature to implement first.

Take a look at the user interface of byki.com. They have nicely integrated sound with flashcards on this free site. Also, the answers are hidden until you want to see the answer.

It should be fairly easy to create some import functionality from a csv or Excel File with two columns - back and front.
