Welcome to Elementary Algebra, let's begin this lesson with some basic definitions to Algebra.
Algebra: A Mathematics of numbers that are replaced by letters and follows the order of operations.
Order of Operations: A Mathematical system used in Algebra and other basic computations. They are, Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction.
You can use the following phrase to help you remember. "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally"
Variable: _A letter that is used to replace or represent a number or series of numbers.
Example:
"X" is your variable. In this situation the value is unknown.
