The Note

  • a basic disk is a physical disk with primary & extended partitions
  • a dynamic disk can contain a virtuell unlimited number of volumes and support 5 types of volumes:
  • + simple
  • + spanned
  • + mirrored
  • + RAID-5
  • NTFS volumes can be mapped to an empty folder on another NTFS volume
  • Basic volumes cannot be extended
