A classic from the day it was first written
Read
Eric Berne cracked our understanding of the dynamics of relationships in a way that is truly practical. Better than understanding the starting point, he helps us to understand how to shift relationships and interactions in a way that achieves positive outcomes.
Gaming theory has become well established in negotiation and other fields. This book will give a framework that can be used immediately by total novices and the very experienced. Even if we are among the people who can't stand sport, we understand the concept with ease and can use it without difficulty.
Some point to the gaps in the book but as a eureka moment I think it is hard to beat.
Great to know what games poeple play
Read
I did not know that we are all player in different games. This book has opened my eyes to what games people play and if you don't want to play you can get out before things goes wrong. Wish I had this book when I was married I would know what game was being played.
Games People Play
Read
Interesting read and once read you can see in your life the games people do play. Quite hard going though, this version, as the text is small and plenty of it.
Read this to begin to understand yourself

This work taught me more in one book than a whole course I once did. Weigh this book and imagine how much it would cost made of gold then ... oh just buy it. I recommend it to my clients.

Great title; disapointing read
Read
I would like to say frst of all this is a request from Amazon to review this book as I do not usually write reviews. I feel slightly miffed that this was the one book I did not enjoy or gain anything from reading. This book, despite it's catchy title is bland and not very informative. It's is too simplistic in it's approach. I must admit, I didn't read all of this book. I lost interest after the intial chapters. I jumped straight the the 'Games' chapters and they were also disapointing. I felt a little conned by the interesting title. I felt this was a book to make money and jumnp on the TA bandwagon. I have recently read 'TA today' which offered me thought provoking insights; I belive many professional coounsellers also use this book. I would recomend not falling for the title (as I did!) and go straight for either 'TA Today' or 'I'm OK, Your Ok' which I read many years ago and left an impression with me for years to come.
